General information

  1. Abstracts and symposium proposals must be original and should not have been published or presented at any conferences prior to the IPOS 2026.
  2. Abstracts and symposium proposals must be submitted in ENGLISH. 
  3. The presenting author must be the person submitting the abstract or/and symposium proposal. 
  4. All abstracts must be submitted before 15 July 2026 through the online abstract submission platform. 
  5. All symposia proposals must be submitted before 15 July 2026 through the online symposium proposal form. 
  6. Within 72 hours of a symposium proposal being submitted, it will be made available on the online abstract submission platform, allowing authors to submit their abstracts as part of that proposal.
  7. All abstracts and symposium proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee, reserving the right to accept or reject submissions and to determine the presentation format.
  8. Reviewing results will be emailed to the presenting author who submitted the abstract or symposium proposal by August 2026.
  9. Authors of accepted abstracts and symposia must register by 1 October 2026 to hold their place on the program.
  10. By submitting your abstract or symposium, you give permission to IPOS to publish it in the abstract book of the Congress.

Individuals abstracts

Title 

The title must be brief, clear, and specific, and directly related to the content of the work. The title should not exceed 50 words. Use lower case letters and only the first letter of the first word should be a capital letter. Abbreviations, bold, italics, and underlining are not allowed. Symbols and special characters are not permitted.

The Scientific Committee will be responsible for assigning the final presentation format.

Body of the abstract 

The text of the abstracts must not exceed 250 words (excluding references) and must be written in English. We encourage non-English-speaking authors to have their abstracts checked for grammar and spelling before submission.

Clinical content can include development of innovative programs, interventions or service delivery models of care. 

Research content must refer to work that relies on scientific methods or theory development. This can include protocols, literature reviews and studies. 

Mandatory abstract structure: 

  • For clinical abstracts:
    • Background/rationale 
    • Methods (needs assessment, theoretical models, interventions, outcomes) 
    • Impact on practice 
    • Discussion (lessons learned, future directions) 
  • For research abstracts:
    • Objectives/purpose 
    • Sample and setting 
    • Procedures 
    • Results 
    • Conclusion and clinical implications

You may include a maximum of one supplementary item (table, figure, or image).

Symposia proposals

Title 

The title must be brief, clear, and specific, and directly related to the content of the work. The title should not exceed 50 words. Symbols and special characters are not permitted.

Body of the symposia proposal 

The text of the symposia proposal must be written in English. We encourage non-English-speaking authors to have their proposal checked for grammar and spelling before submission. Please do not leave blank lines to separate paragraphs.

Changes and corrections

Once the abstract/symposium is submitted, to make corrections to the content or information (prior to the submission deadline) contact the Technical Secretariat at ipos2026@bcocongresos.com. In the case of errors in your abstract/symposium discovered after the deadline, you may indicate the correction on your presentation during the congress. If you want to withdraw an abstract/symposium already submitted, please notify us as quickly as possible stating the title and number of the abstract/symposium to be withdrawn. 

Evaluation and acceptance

The final selection will be made by the Scientific Committee that will determine the acceptance or rejection for each abstract/symposium. All submitters will be notified by email about the outcome (accepted or rejected). Please ensure that the email provided is accurate as all correspondences will be sent via email. If the abstract/symposium is accepted, further instructions about the presentation type, session, etc. will be provided.
